Machining light recesses

light recesses

Lights being machined into some Ash shelves and have concealed transformers and cabling supplied complete for rapid installation. Jigs made specialty to guarantee an exact fit.

Shutters and Windows

waiting for their new owner

We often produce similar items for collection in France for many a English and French customers

Curvy Stairs

Stair Flight

This was a difficult staircase to build due to multiple angles and rises but here it is waiting for the new curved handrail and special order spindle for the banisters.

Unusual Country Gates

Unusual Country Gates made to measure

This gate evolved from some very curved old oak which kind of found its destiny with this cool gate. Note the wooden sliding bolt which performs without a hitch, no more fiddling about with tiny shoot bolts.

Wood turned Spindles

Bead and Cove hand turned spindles

This was a commission  for a new and unusual staircase not far from 'Saint Mathieu' No copy lathe was sacrificed for the sixty turnings as they were manually copied using only calipers and my razor sharp turning tools.

Beveled Edge Shutters

Beveled edge Volets AKA Shutters

This was a special request as the opening has mullion windows hence the bevel to the edges so they fit tight against the reveals. In France there are many homes which have shutters and the country is famous for their brightly colored shutters, sadly too many people are painting them a boring brown lasure  instead of fantastic colours.

Portia another French Chasse story of abandonment

Portia

A pretty ex chasse hound left abandoned and starved in the French Limousin. After some effort to entice her she was finally taken into foster care. The poor animal had no Identification and covered in ticks and fleas, a all too common tale for many unwanted chasse dogs.

She is approximately 3 years old according to the Vet and grossly underweight but since in foster care has gained weight and looking healthy. It is believed she was used for breeding and possibly ill-treated as she is so weary of people but mainly men, this may be a concern for a new owner but it is no problem as since we have cared for her she has gained tremendous confidence and gives my Husband massive cuddles and smooches.

We have two other dogs and they all get on well so no reason why she couldn't be introduced to other dogs and great with children. We also have a cat although a bit curious at first she now just kisses the Cat! but leaves him alone. We also have sheep, chickens and ducks with no problems.

While we update this blog she has just come for a cuddle and just a big softy totally non aggressive, house trained.

She is chipped (250269604761929), vaccinated and will be sterilised prior to re-homing. Weight 30kg She is looking for a permanent and caring home where she can complete her recovery and make someone a loving and loyal house pet.
